

RECRUITMENT & SCREENING SELECTION
Our recruitment process is dedicated to providing crews with maximum expertise and self-sustainable capability. We hold an extensive database of qualified and experienced Indonesian seafarers. We also emphasize that our crew members should be able to communicate effectively in English. Our up-to-date computerized database empowered with a search solutions which help us to find the suitable candidates quickly. All candidates are screened, qualifications and experiences verified and cross-checked, furthermore a personal interview has been conducted. In case our Principal wishes to screen selected candidates personally we welcome Principal’s representatives to interview them.
DOCUMENTS & TRAINING CERTIFICATES
Our seafarers meet the very highest technical and operational standards. We conduct thorough verification of candidate’s documents and certifications, to ensure that this qualification, experience and documents in order to suit the Principal's strict standard demands. Training and certificates comply with IMO, STCW, ISM, ISPS and Flag State requirements and always have the necessary experience relevant to the type of vessels for which the seafarers have been hired. Requirements of the Vessel's Flag Registry administration, crews would be applied the appropriate flag licenses and corresponding special qualifications or statutory certificates
MEDICAL EXAMINATION
Our qualified seafarers must have a medical clearance from medical centers accredited with the respective government bodies of which our Principals vessel flag. This is to ensure our Principals that the following qualified seafarers deployed are fit to be duty onboard ship.
DISPATCHING AND TRAVEL ARRANGEMENT
When the seafarers are suitable and approved by Principal, we communicate with the Principal to arrange the necessary documents such as Flag State License (depending on the flag of the vessel), Letter of Guarantee or / and OK to Board, Article of Agreement, Visa, Air Ticket, and any other requirement in order that the crew can go from place of origin to country or vessel of destination without hindrance. As soon as we received the documents required, we will deploy the seafarers as soon as possible to meet the vessels and to avoid delay. Then we liaison with local agents regarding flight schedule and other necessary details to complete pre-arrival formalities with the immigration authorities, of subject vessel, at the joining port in order that the crews are able to join ship in enough time for a proper handing/taking over.
QHSE
Quality, health, safety and the environment is always our priority. PT Maderland Crewing Management complies with the highest health and safety standard procedures. We ensure our personnel have all the valid training and medical documents. Of course, all maritime crew have the relevant STCW certificates. PT Maderland Crewing Management ensure that all national endorsements of the Flag State are met and that personnel are covered by either a private or a state insurance package. Our record is exemplary and we monitor every activity in order to make sure all quality, health and safety standards are respected.
DRUGS AND ALCOHOL POLICY
Policy for the use of alcohol, drugs and other forbidden narcotic or performance enhancing substances. The use, possession, concealment, transportation, sale, production and supply or offer to supply of alcohol, drugs, Narcotics and/or other forbidden substances during the employment period, included the travel to and from the location, is strictly prohibited. If for any reason the employee /seafarer is suspected of being in possession of the aforesaid substances, PT Sejati7Samudera and its principals, reserve the right to thoroughly search the employee’s personal possessions and/or work place for proof of possession of these substances.
PT Maderland Crewing Management and its principals retain the right to carry out (drugs) tests on its employees /seafares for the abovementioned substances. If PT Sejati7Samudera or its principals suspects an employee/seafarers of consuming any forbidden substances, or the employee /seafarer acts in a dysfunctional way, PT Maderland Crewing Management and its principals reserve the right to demand that the employee /seafarer submits himself/herself to undergo a (drugs) test. The majority of our’ principals has a policy of conducting, with or without cause, unannounced/random (drugs) tests on employees and reserves the right to carry out these tests either onshore or offshore and at the work place. Employees must be aware, accept and respect the principal’s policy in this respect. Furthermore, the employee considers the principal’s policy as incorporated in this policy. It is mandatory for all employees to make themselves available, when requested, for (drugs) tests. Refusal to comply with this policy could lead to the employee being refused access to or removal from the work place and to dismissal. The resulting costs incurred will be charged to the (ex) employee/seafarer.
COMPENSATION & CONTRACT
The laws governing wage and labor issues in the maritime industry vary depending on the scope of jobs, location of the work performed and the kind of vessel. Vessel managers are required to enter into written contracts with each of their seafaring employees. These contracts ideally cover basic employment terms, including scope and length of employment, duties and responsibilities, working conditions, on-board conduct rules, annulment of contract and termination, reporting obligations, medical leave, and rate of compensation.
Qualified seafarers embarking on voyage to foreign shores are required to enter into a written shipping Articles of Agreement with their agency or employer. A seafaring employee’s life and wages are protected under certain laws on most vessels and these legal terms have developed over time to protect the rights of the seafarer. But issues and concerns do arise from time to time regarding seamen compensation, entitlements, overtime and benefits.

Maderland Crewing Management provides extensive legal and advisory support to all our crew selectees on their engagement contract and ensures that both employee and ship manager are fully aware of their legal and financial obligations, both at sea and on land, and meet these obligations within the prescribed period. We ensure that our seafarers are among the best paid in the industry and receive compensation worthy of their training, experience, and performance. We also assist crew and ship owners in structuring wage payment, compensation, and tax in an efficient and non-discriminatory manner.
